Off Topic (Arousing Comics)

Totally off the topic of Boloney and shred. This is just really fun. So Microsoft has this crazy new motion controller in the works for Xbox and it seems pretty magical, called Project Natal (Take a look at the videos on the bottom of the page to get the jist). Check it out here to better understand. Then below is the comic I find so amusing. Of course, Penny Arcade has many other numerous bits worth checking out.

Jealous of the West (Random Updates)

So as the weather continues to become sweltering in the Mid-Atlantic and Long Island heats up, those lucky enough to live in the high elevations out West are still able to have some uber late season shred. I guess at this point it is nearly summer skiing. Pretty cool. Check this video out posted by a dude who is living in SLC and hits some huge lines on parts unknown near Snowbird.

With the heat and sun, time to get busy falling off the mountain bike and surfing.

This Man is My Hero (How to Be Awesome)

I've often wanted a hero. Someone to really look up to. Finding that none of the traditional heroes were sufficiently hero-worthy, I was discouraged. Then I saw this. I now have a hero.

It's a Buyer's Market (Boloney Moguls to Invest)

Because the entire world may suggest there is some sort of "recession" going on (I prefer to think about the re:session), two mountains are up for sale and it is time for Boloney Moguls to go even bigger. Intrepid sleuth AtheFilter has tracked down this article in the BFP.

To summarize, Stowe Mountain Resort is up for sale. Sold in 2007 for 85$ million and has appreciated in value since then, details are sketchy on if they are going public or private of if they have any perspective buyers lined up.

Perhaps most interesting: "“Our hope is that our buyer will continue to develop Stowe in the environmentally respectful master plan that has been eight years in the making,” Tulupman said."

So clearly we know what we can do. If we buy this place we can totally screw over all the hippie tree huggers and do whatever we want. I think it is win win.

Also, look at this from skitheeast.net about Magic Mountain:

"Thank you all for your review of my letter last week in which I introduced the concept of co-operative ownership of Magic. I am encouraged by the number and the tenor of the responses. I understand that further details need to be presented in order for many of you to make a commitment to purchasing shares, and the purpose of this letter is to answer many of the specific inquiries which have been posed. In addition, in short order I will present a business plan, a five year budget, and a list of capital projects and the associated costs. As always, I appreciate your input, commentary, and questions, and I am hopeful that you all will continue to provide them."

It of course goes on to say that they want to sell 300 shares at 5000$ each. Now that's a deal. Who wants to own part of a mountain? I do! I do! Check out more details here http://www.savemagicvermont.com/

The line at around 2:20 is still a mystery to me. Does he fall? Does he tumble? Was it all intentional? There is so much pow it doesn't seem to matter.

What to Watch (Brighton, Traveling Circus, None More Blacker)

While scanning the interwebs for all things that are awesome. Many cool ski vids popped up.

First, a new episode of Line Skis' Traveling Circus. Definitely another great ep and well worth watching.

Next up, while trolling youtube for Warren Millerisms, I found this gem. From the 2003 snow flick "Cold Fusion," the WM guys head over to Brighton, Utah in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Did I mention Boloney blasted that part of UT this season?

More Amazing Warren Miller action. This time at the potential South American Boloney compound at Portillio, Chile.

Quick None More Blacker update:

We've toured the world and elsewhere and have completed our principal photography for the project. After countless hours locked in my editing booth, the first raw cut of the full feature is complete. Much editing and revision remains. Focus groups will be employed. Poison control experts and swine flu patients utilized. Current plans suggest a Walton Debauchery release party, with a start to the Boloney Moguls Summer season featurette following.

A blast from the past (once audio becomes unsyched at cocktail hour, switch and watch part II):
